Logistics Solution Builders Inc. was founded by Lloyd L.
Ash, P.Eng., P.Log. Lloyd is an
experienced and well respected logistics professional with over 20 years of
professional consulting experience for clients in numerous business sectors,
all levels of government, industry associations (shipper, carrier, professional
groups) and international agencies. He
managed the North American consulting business unit of Trimac Corporation, one
of Canada's largest trucking fleets -- with extensive business activities in
the United States and active fleet services to and from Mexico. He spearheaded Trimac's entry into providing
intermodal transportation services with the development of an innovative rail -
truck system for moving ore concentrates to one of the world's largest lead and
zinc smelters.
He spearheaded the development of operational cost related
transportation rates for transporting milk products in the province of British
Columbia and was chosen by the province of British Columbia to benchmark heavy
equipment costs for a recent edition of that province's Blue Book. He has supported rate negotiation efforts
for minerals producers in Northern Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alaska. He
has also helped set up lumber reloading centres, warehouse facilities and the
implementation of new systems and processes designed to enhance logistics
efficiency.
In addition to leading an effective team of some 30
associates drawn from diverse logistics modes (trucking, rail, air, marine) and
disciplines (regulatory, analytical, planning, operations management,
procurement, information technology), Mr
Ash also develops and instructs directly relevant courses in the undergraduate Bachelor
of Business Administration program in Supply Chain Management at Calgary's
Bissett School of Business, Mount Royal University. He currently teaches courses in Physical
Distribution and Logistics Management,
Business Management Information Systems,
Business Integration Processes, Project
Management, and Operations Management.
